Roma handwoven jute and recycled textile cotton rug in a fun multicoloured design is handwoven in a beautiful village outside of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. The bright pops of colour make it a fun kids bedroom rug or a colourful boho, statement piece in a hall, kitchen or bathroom. These handcrafted rugs re-use and repurpose recycled textiles and use sustainable jute to create these soulful fun rugs that can also be hung on the wall for a bright, boho look. Inject a little of the spice trail into your decor and relish the slow artisanal process of hand weaving and stitching employed to create this one-off individual piece for you. They're durable, easy to look after and even reversible for a slightly different look depending on the decor or the day.

Materials: Jute, cotton, synthetic recycled textiles

Slowly woven by hand in a small workshop near Jaipur, India, the Roma Handwoven Jute & Cotton Rug in it's earthy and bright colours is a fun statement rug for any room. The jute is first twisted into rope-like lengths, and the recycled textiles are cut into strips ready to hand weave in with the jute. A wooden and string frame is used to hand weave the jute and textile slowly by hand, through the frame to create the alternating front and reverse designs and the inner frame design, whilst the weaver works down the frame. This simple artisan craft is sustained and the women are able to work safely outside the home and provide an additional income for the family. Its charm lies in its naturally flawed finish and unique colour variations. Each one is individual and imperfections are natural in this slow, intricate process, making it unique and yours alone.
